In Chinese Medicine, Spring is the season of the Liver and Gallbladder. The liver is the home of anger. In these challenging times, if you find yourself struggling with anger and resentment, here is a tea that will help soothe the savage beast.

Liver-soothing Tea
5 cups of water
2 tsp fennel seeds
2 tsp fenugreek seeds
4 tsp peppermint leaves (fresh is best, if you have it)
1 tsp licorice root
1-inch piece of fresh ginger, sliced

In a saucepan, add the 5 cups of water and all the tea ingredients. Bring to a soft boil. Turn down to simmer. Remove from heat after 10 minutes. Strain and drink.

Make a quart each morning.

Now, as you sip your tea and nurture the liver and gallbladder, here is something else to think about. In Chinese Medicine, the Liver is the official in charge of planning. Anger best serves us when we can channel it into ACTION! What’s your plan to turn anger into action, one cup of tea at a time?

Your liver and gallbladder will thank you.
